So you can't find much from the Shepard's Conference on U-Tube. Seems there was a bit of conflict during the Q @ A. I saw a brief clip, which was just a minor conflict between Phil Johnson and Al Mohler, but considering I don't think there is ever much of any conflict at these conferences, it stands out as worse than it was....at least I hope that is the case.
So many conservative evangelicals are struggling as to where they stand on this. Matt Chandler has seemingly backed away from a strong social gospel bent, to actually speaking against the social gospel in a sermon only to clarify later in the sermon, that he still has one foot in. At least that is the way it came across. Here is the sermon...He made good points, but the points he made are not social gospel, they're just Christianity 101.
I think some of the recent conflict may come down to a matter of semantics. Matt's sermon seems that way, but not sure if that is Al Mohler and Phil Johnson's situation or not. Pray that this conflict will be resolved with love in Christ and shown as an example of how Godly men should work out any differences.
